Randolph's 4th of July Celebration

Randolph always has their Fourth of July celebration the Saturday before the 4th.  This had to be the HOTTEST Fourth of July celebration that I can remember! It was over 100 and there was just no breeze. However, this did not seem to bother the kids at all.  They enjoyed the parade with their cousins.  Then it was time for the pedal tractor pull.  This was what Isaac had been waiting for. He was a little disappointed that he didn't get a ribbon, but he did a great job!  After the pull we decided to get out of the heat and go eat at Nelson's Landing in Leonardville.  This was a great idea!  However, while there rain clouds moved in and fireworks at Randolph were cancelled for the night.  There was a break in the lightning and the kids were able to use their carnival tickets and ride a few rides.

Watching the parade go by.

Waiting for the pedal tractor pull.

Isabella's turn to pull.

Isabella had a full pull and received first place.  There were only two girls in her age division this year.
I think the heat kept many away!

Isaac getting ready to pull.  He had a full pull the first time, but so didn't 4 other boys his age.  In the pull off he ended up in fourth place.  Of course this was a little disappointing to him.

Having fun on some rides!

Isaac enjoying the rides despite the rain.

Isabella didn't care either that she was getting wet.

Fourth of July

The Fourth of July was over a week ago so I thought I better get my pictures posted from this great weekend!

Isaac and Isabella still did not make it to the fireworks in Wamego.  Earlier in the day we took them to the tractor/engine show and the car show in the park and then in the evening we went to the parade.  However, after coming home to grab a bite to eat they both fell asleep shortly after eating.  There was no waking them up.  They both slept soundly through being carried upstairs and having their P.J.'s put on them.  Isaac woke up around 3:00 am and came in crying to our room that he missed the fireworks.  Isabella had the same reaction in the morning about missing them.  Matt and I enjoyed them from our deck again this year.  Maybe next year we will make it?

Fourth of July

Over the Fourth of July the Wienck family got together for their traditional celebration. We started the morning off on a train ride on the Central Branch Railroad. It started in Blue Rapids and took us East past Waterville. Isaac on the way back got to help flag the Highway 77 traffic. In the afternoon we went to Randolph for the parade and fireworks. Isaac, Jeremy, Allison, and Zach all were in the pedal tractor pull. They brought home three first place ribbons and and one third place ribbon. The evening was a little damp due to light rain that kept falling. However, it cleared off in time for the fireworks. Isaac and Isabella BOTH fell asleep during the fireworks and missed the big finale! On Sunday it was a BBQ at our house. Unfortunately, it was an inside BBQ due to ALL the rain. Matt did get a little wet grilling, but he survived.

Randolph Pedal Tractor Pull

Isaac's first place blue ribbon and with the tractor that he won.

Isaac competed in the Pedal Tractor Pull at Randolph on Saturday. He won first place for his age division. The smile on his face says it all!
