A Different Perspective

All summer long we have been talking about closing the door of the house behind you when you go in or out. Usually the reason we don't want bugs in our house works great! Especially since Isabella freaks out when there is a bug in the house. (I wonder if she has been around Aunt Wanda too much?) However, last night Isabella had a new spin on this concept. The conversation went like this.

Matt: Isabella, please shut the garage door so you don't let the bugs in.

Isabella: But Daddy, I am letting the bugs go outside.

Matt: I think more bugs are coming in then going out.

Taking Pictures

How many pictures does it take to get a good picture of my two little munchkins? Sometimes there is not enough time in the day to take pictures. They usually end up looking like these. One, two, or both are not looking at the camera. However, they both are still just darn cute!

Riley County Fair

The little ones enjoyed the Riley County Fair this past weekend. Isabella seemed to take on the characteristics of what ever animal she saw. Isaac told us that the cattle were talking to him when the said "MOO". They both REALLY enjoyed going on a few carnival rides!

Playing Doctor

Isaac had been under the weather early in the week with a slight fever and runny nose. He of course passed this on to Isabella. Isaac decided to take matters into his own hands this morning to see how well Isabella was doing.

He told her it would give her arm a hug.

Checking her temperature. We use a temporal scan thermometer at home. That is why he is running it over her forehead.

Isaac's diagnosis was that she should not climb on anything and rest. He also had to follow her around when she did get up because, she had all of those machines hooked up to her. As you can tell, he remembers a lot from being in the hospital to get his kidney taken out.

Hopping In The Rain

It has rained a lot lately in Wamego lately. Sometimes not very much. However, at other times fierce enough to break one of our trees. Today was one of those gentle constant rains. Isaac had the idea to go jump in some puddles before nap time. Isabella thought it looked like too much fun to resist!

Harvest Time

We did a little harvesting of some of our garden over the weekend. Matt and Isaac dug some red potatoes. You don't know if you are going to get red potatoes or white when you start digging. When the potatoes were planted Isaac and Isabella just dropped potatoes them into the holes Matt dug. There was no rhyme or reason. It will always be a surprise when you dig them up this way.

Then, we picked the first four rows of corn that Matt and Isaac planted first. Isaac stuck it out the longest helping us get the corn husks off. Isabella mainly played in the sandbox and only helped with a few. At the end they both found it was a lot more fun to parade around the yard carrying tall corn stalks and chasing each other with them. However, by this time I wasn't clicking pictures any more. I was elbow deep in corn silks and husks!

Isaac was very intrigued to find that some little worms also liked to eat sweet corn and some of them were still munching.
