Isaac Scooting
There she goes!
Trying to get back to the top of the hill.
Helping out little sis get back to the top.
Thursday was a very warm day.  It reached 70 degrees, however it was very windy! Isaac and Isabella were able to get outside and try out their new scooters.  They also had fun riding their bikes down the hill.

Isabella's Preschool Christmas Party

Isabella had her school Christmas party today.  One of the benefits of having the preschool at West is that I can sneak off into her party when my students are at specials!  They even had a surprise guest, Santa!  Isabella told Santa that she wanted a pink scooter, since this is what she forgot to tell him when she saw him at the mall.

Visting Santa

Isaac and Isabella finally made it to Santa tonight!

Making Sugar Cookies

We made cut out sugar cookies two weeks ago, however I am just now posting them!  Even though Isabella looks like she's eating the cookie, she didn't.  The poor little thing was sick with the stomach flu for over a week.  She finally wanted to eat her sugar cookies she decorated a week later.  Isaac on the other hand did not have any trouble eating his cookies!  We still have some in the freezer to pull out this coming week to decorate for the Big Guy!

Christmas is Around the Corner

Wonder Of Wonders Christmas Card

Isabella and Isaac are getting prepared for Christmas.  Isabella has been cutting from the toy magazines from Wal-mart and Target.  She has been cutting out ALL the things she wants.  Of course, she does cut out things that she thinks Isaac might like and some of her cousins, too.  Isaac is making his list, however I keep saying they don't make those type of toys (These are usually some type of implement.).  He just tells me that it is okay, because Santa's elves can make anything! (I think I am in trouble!)

They also have been discussing in great detail what time they will wake up on Christmas morning, and how they will just run down the stairs and start opening their presents!  Oh the joys of being young!

Halloween

Halloween pictures this year may have resemblance of the past.  Isabella decided that she wanted to be a giraffe again this year.  Which was fine with me, since I did spend a great deal of time making her costume last year, and after this year it will probably not fit her.  She once again made a darling giraffe, however she was disappointed that she didn't have a long neck.  Isaac did dress up as a farmer for preschool, again this year.  However, when it came time to trick or treat he put on his fireman costume from when he was two, back then we rolled up the sleeves.  He made a handsome little firefighter.  It was totally acceptable to be a firefighter since Uncle John is a farmer and a firefighter.

Isaac Being Silly

Isaac was showing off some cat eye glasses and being a silly thing!

Flat Allison Visits the Wilber's

Cousin Flat Allison visited us for a couple of weeks.  Her class was doing the Flat Stanley Project, which my class also does every fall.

Disguising the Turkey

Isabella had a homework assignment from preschool to disguise her turkey so it wouldn't be eaten for Thanksgiving.  She decided to disguise him as a peacock.  (I think she is still really jealous that Isaac picked a peacock at Build a Bear this summer and she decided on a rhino.)  It took her awhile put she got all the feathers cut out after I had traced them for her.

Pumpkin Patch

Sunday we enjoyed the beautiful fall weather and went to the pumpkin patch!  The new favorite this year was the zip line.  Of course the hay bale jump will always rank high on the list.  Isabella found the smallest pumpkins ever.  One is called Cotton Candy and the other two are little tiny white ones.  Isaac on the other hand had great difficulty finding the perfect pumpkins.  He had standards to look for.

Fun in the Sun

Last week Isaac and Isabella took advantage of the warm weather.  They first started out playing on the water slide.  Then, they progressed to the swimming pool.  By the time I had gotten home the contents of the swimming pool was in the sandbox.  They were building dams and ponds.  Of course this looked like TOO much fun for the neighbor kids to pass up.  They also joined Isaac and Isabella playing.
Notice how Isabella is the only one actually in the wet sand?  She has been paying for it ever since.  Her ecema reared its ugly head major big time after this.  We are still trying to get it under control.

Isaac's First Day of Preschool

Isaac had his first day of preschool today!  He was SO excited!  He had been counting down the days!!

Isaac's First Soccer Game

Isaac had his first soccer game today.  He was NOT very excited going into the game.  He had told us at breakfast that soccer was no fun because you had to listen to the coach and have lots of patience.  Then he preceded to tell us that he wished we NEVER had signed him up for soccer.

We took the unenthused boy to the game.  Our instructions to him was to go get involved in the game keep up with the team and try to have fun!

During the game instructions.
The hot and sweaty soccer player.
(Their game shirts were not ready for their first game.  Red was the closest we had in the closet to maroon.)
Isaac LOVED his soccer game.  He told us it was a LOT more FUN than practice.  Isaac didn't really kick the ball too much, but he always stayed with the group and tried to get the ball!  Overall pretty good for a young boy's first soccer game considering his parents are not sports enthusiast.

Isabella and her teacher Miss Carrie
 Let's go!
Isabella loved the sensory table with oatmeal in it at school.

Isaac is the one that cried this morning.  He wasn't going to have Isabella to play with.  Isaac starts school on Monday.

Staining the Deck

The deck needed to be stained again, and since I am almost ready to go back to school the time is now to get it done.  Matt was in charge of power washing it first.  I have been staining the floor while Matt does the outside spindles.  The little ones have been staining a birdhouse that the Kay's husband made. (Kay cuts out hair.)  Which is just enough staining for them!

We still also need to stain the play set.  That is the next project after the deck.

Jumping off the Low Dive

Last week the little ones and some teacher friends made a road trip down to Valley Center to visit Marsha, who I use to teach third grade with at West.   Marsha has a pool in her back yard!
Isabella had fun just playing with pool toys up by the steps.
Isaac loved just floating and jumping in.
Isaac, who doesn't want to put his head underwater decided that it would be great to jump off the low dive.  He jumped off about five times.  Getting braver each time.  This was the first time he jumped off with some assistance.
