Isaac and Isabella had their routine six month dental check up last week. Isaac had his first cavity. YIKES! It was in between two molars on the bottom. He did a REALLY good job handling getting it filled yesterday. We did not tell him they were going to give him a shot. The plan was just to numb that tooth with some gel and then they would give the tooth some sleeping medicine. Getting the sleeping medicine, the numbing shot, was the worse. He cried some while this was happening. I can't say I blame him, it just hurts! He still does not know they gave him a shot. We had him close his eyes to keep the bright light out when they did this part. It worked!
The lesson learned is that even though he does a great job brushing his teeth, we still need to floss. Especially between those molars in the back. He decided have me floss his teeth each night is much less painful then getting a cavity filled. He let Isabella know this, too.
